Product Spotlight: Mosconi Pro 5|30

November 18, 2019 By The Specialists Leave a Comment

Mosconi 5|30When it comes to creating amazing audio systems in cars and trucks, Street Smart Automotive Solutions in Flowood turns to the Mosconi Pro 5|30. This five-channel amplifier combines a staggered-power four-channel Class AB front end with a high-efficiency Class D subwoofer amp to deliver up to 1,310 watts of power to your audio system.

Big Power Delivers Great Sound

The chassis of the Pro 5|30 measures 19.7 by 8.1 inches and stands just under 2.2 inches tall. Power, signal and speaker connections are made along the bottom edge of the amp, and the signal processing controls and the amp fuse are accessible by removing a cover on top of the amp.

Channels 1 and 2 are rated for 70 watts each while channels 3 and 4 are rated for 150 watts, all into 4-ohm loads. The subwoofer channel is rated for 550 watts into 4 ohms. With all channels driven into 2-ohm loads, the amp can deliver 85 watts from the fronts, 195 watts from the rears and 750 watts to a subwoofer. That’s big power and more than enough for a premium two-way front stage and subwoofer solution.

Signal Processing Features

Mosconi 5|30Channels 1 and 2 have a single dedicated input level control and an adjustable high-pass filter that ranges from 43 Hz to 5 kHz. Channels 3 and 4 add an adjustable low-pass filter for use with midrange and mid-bass drivers. The subwoofer channel has an adjustable low-pass filter that maxes out at 200 Hz.

For instances where we will be using an external signal processor, the Pro 5|30 has a Direct DSP button on each bank of inputs to bypass the crossovers and sensitivity adjustments. Activating this feature improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the amp and fixes the sensitivity level at 5.3V for the main channels and 3.1V for the subwoofer channel.

While the amp has a rated operating voltage of 11 to 14V, Mosconi has designed the control circuitry to maintain operation down to 6V for periods of less than a second. This low-voltage capability is an important feature in vehicles that include start-stop technology.

Why We Love the Mosconi Pro 5|30

Building audio systems around a single-chassis amp saves our clients time and expense. The performance of the Class AB main channels provides smooth and detailed sound for midrange speakers and tweeters. The impressive power from the Class D subwoofer channel ensures that you can crank up your music without fear of the amp distorting.
